Production Engineer
This is an exciting opportunity to join a mid-sized Australian gold producer in a key site-based Production Engineering role. The business is in a strong phase, having underground operations into production while continuing to invest in infrastructure, systems, and people.
You will be part of a lean, technically strong site team that values initiative, collaboration, and practical engineering input. This role plays a critical part in supporting safe, efficient, and sustainable production outcomes across steady-state operations and new mine ramp-ups.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and execute weekly and daily production plans aligned with monthly mine schedules
* Develop stope and development designs, including drill and blast parameters
* Monitor production performance including tonnes, grade, dilution, and recovery
* Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and mining outcomes
* Support short-term scheduling, ventilation planning, and shift execution
* Work closely with operations, geology, and technical services teams to achieve production targets
* Contribute to safety inspections, hazard identification, and incident investigations
* Maintain accurate mine designs and schedules within planning software such as Deswik
Qualifications & Skills
* Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
* Previous underground production engineering experience preferred
* Strong working knowledge of mine planning software and Microsoft Excel
* Practical, site-focused engineer with strong communication skills
* Safety-first mindset with a solid understanding of mine site risk management
