Greenlife Solutions, a fifth-generation family-operated horticultural wholesale production nursery located in Redland Bay on Brisbane's south side is seeking a Nursery Hand, Gardens & Grounds Maintenance Operator. This role offers a diverse range of daily tasks and seasonal tasks, including planting and harvesting crops, irrigation and pest control management as well as maintaining grounds and display gardens.
Qualifications & experience
* Genuine interest or background in horticulture; Certificate III in Horticulture is highly desirable
* Self-motivated and able to work independently without supervision
* Strong project and time management skills
* Ability to follow directions accurately
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Physically fit and healthy, capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
* Experience operating farm machinery and forklifts is an advantage
* Knowledge of irrigation management and pest/disease control, including spraying, is beneficial
* Must hold a valid Australian driver's license
Tasks & responsibilities
* Planting and harvesting in-ground and potted crops, including cut foliage
* Preparing trees and managing large in-ground plantings
* Scheduled mowing and general maintenance of nursery grounds and featured gardens
* Weeding, planting, and upkeep of garden features
* Overseeing irrigation systems and managing pest and disease control through spraying
* Assisting with potting, dispatch, and general nursery operations
