What you'll do:
As a Structural Engineer based on the Gold Coast, you will assume a pivotal role in shaping the built environment across an extensive range of projects. Your daily responsibilities will involve close collaboration with talented colleagues on luxury residential developments, multi-storey townhouses, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, aged care centres, educational institutions, community clubs, and civil infrastructure such as bridges.
* Deliver comprehensive structural engineering solutions for an array of commercial, residential, industrial, aged care, educational, community, and civil infrastructure projects.
* Collaborate closely with senior project engineers, drafters, boutique architects, and key clients to ensure seamless project execution and exceptional client satisfaction.
* Apply your expertise in structural principles, materials selection, and Australian Standards to produce designs that are both safe and efficient.
* Utilise AutoCAD and Hyne Timber Design software alongside proficient operation of SPACE GASS, Strand7, and Inducta Suite for analysis and documentation purposes.
* Participate actively in project meetings by contributing valuable insights while cultivating trusted relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Prepare clear written reports, technical documentation, and verbal presentations that effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
* Support the preparation of tender submissions, feasibility studies, and construction phase services as necessitated by each unique project.
* Demonstrate adaptability by managing multiple priorities efficiently whilst upholding the highest standards of quality across all deliverables.
* Engage in continuous learning through formal mentoring programmes as well as informal guidance from experienced colleagues within the team.
* Contribute positively to the inclusive team culture by participating in social activities and sharing knowledge with peers.
What you bring:
To excel as a Structural Engineer within this consultancy on the Gold Coast, you will offer not only robust academic credentials but also practical experience acquired through involvement in real-world projects. Your background will encompass exposure to varied building types—ranging from luxury residences to multi-residential complexes—and familiarity with industry‐standard design tools. You will have demonstrated your ability to interpret codes and standards accurately whilst producing reliable calculations under time constraints. Your interpersonal acumen will be evident when collaborating with colleagues or presenting ideas to clients; empathy and clarity underpin your approach. * Possess a four‐year Bachelor's degree in engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
* Demonstrate 2‐3+ years of relevant postgraduate experience within a structural engineering practice or consultancy environment.
* Exhibit proficiency in applying structural principles across various materials whilst adhering meticulously to applicable Australian Standards.
* Show competence with AutoCAD and Hyne Timber Design software as well as practical familiarity with SPACE GASS, Strand7, and Inducta Suite analysis tools.
* Display well‐developed written communication skills for preparing reports alongside effective verbal communication abilities for engaging with clients and colleagues.
* Evidence capability to manage workloads efficiently both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Express interest in pursuing further accreditation such as RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland), NER (National Engineering Register), or CPEng (Chartered Professional Engineer).
* Hold valid Australian work rights together with a current driver's licence for site visits as required by project demands.
* Bring enthusiasm for cultivating positive relationships with boutique architects or similar stakeholders within the construction sector.
