Overview

- Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit, Calvary Mater Newcastle. Permanent Full-Time, Part-Time, Casual Roles. Full Time, Part-Time and Casual roles are available. Salary Classification: experienced Registered Nurses Year 3-8. Remuneration: $40.34 - $51.09 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.

About the role: Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team is a cohesive group of skilled professionals from diverse backgrounds dedicated to providing excellent care in a supportive and collaborative environment. We are seeking skilled and compassionate ICU nurses to join our dynamic team. Successful candidates will have a strong background in critical care nursing, exceptional clinical skills and be excited to work in an often fast paced, high pressure environment. They will have excellent communication skills and the ability to plan and deliver high quality care to critically ill patients.

Responsibilities

- Timely, complete and accurate documentation of nursing care and patient’s progress is entered onto the ICU Flowchart, the patient’s medical record and communicated to other team members.
- Accurately and comprehensively handover nursing care of critically ill patients to nursing colleagues on the following shift.
- Communicate effectively with the Nursing Unit Manager and ICU In Charge Nurse.
- Ensure the ICU In Charge Nurse and ICU Staff Specialist/SRMO are aware of all/any changes in clinical condition in ICU patients, including clinical deterioration or improvement.
- Participate in the Medical rounds to ensure communication of patient needs/changes and changes to treatment.

- Registered Nurse authorised to practise by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated recent experience in Intensive Care
- Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development
