Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate components according to detailed specifications. The role involves monitoring machine performance, performing routine maintenance and checks, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
This role will also include operation of other manufacturing equipment to process and fabricate housing cassettes.
Responsibilities:
* Adhere to and promote company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for everyone to work in.
* Complete pre-start checks on equipment (includes calibrations, checking and loading tools and overall machine functionality)
* Ensure correct files are uploaded to machine prior to operation in consultation with manufacturing management team
* Load / unload materials into the CNC equipment, ensuring appropriate manual handling techniques are followed
* Supervise the CNC machine in operation, and make adjustments as needed to ensure production matches file specifications
* Ensure the CNC equipment operates in accordance with safety guidelines
* Conduct light maintenance on the machine, such as cleaning tools, and report any other maintenance issues to manufacturing management team.
* Check stock levels of raw materials and consumables for required delivery
* Perform other duties as required relevant to carrying out factory operations, e.g. operating forklift, unloading deliveries, assisting in the manual production line.
About you:
* Dedicated to fostering a culture of safety, with a proven track record of adhering to and championing company safety policies and regulations.
* 2+ years of experience operating manufacturing machinery, preferably in the timber or prefabrication sectors.
* Exceptional precision and a keen eye for detail, thriving in roles that require meticulousness and accuracy.
* Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement and an understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles.
* Previous experience in carpentry or building is highly desirable.
