About the role
As an experienced Service Desk Officer you will provide timely and efficient support for network and desktop services, including hardware, software, and email systems, to ensure optimal use of technology by internal and external customers. Administer and maintain Council's telecommunications systems, including patching, handset maintenance, and new service setup.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver professional, customer-focused Help Desk support to local and remote users.
* Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and report on performance.
* Install, upgrade, and maintain PC hardware, desktop software, and mobile devices across Council sites.
* Manage asset registers and support IT operations projects as required.
* Administer and support Council's telecommunications systems (PABX, voicemail, telephony database).
* Diagnose and coordinate repairs for fixed line, ISDN, ADSL, and related equipment.
* Provide training and documentation for staff on IT and telephony systems.
* Uphold Council values, workplace safety, equal opportunity, and risk management policies.
Requirements
* Strong technical knowledge of desktop, network, and telecommunications systems.
* Proven experience in IT support and customer service delivery.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide clear technical guidance.
* Prior experience working within a local council environment will be highly regarded.
