Job Summary
We are a busy and high-quality restaurant in Melbourne seeking talented kitchen staff at all levels, from Sous Chef to Commis Chef. This is a full-time opportunity for motivated professionals who are passionate about cooking, maintaining high standards, and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Positions Available
* Head Chef – Lead the entire kitchen, oversee menu planning, staff management, and ensure overall food quality and consistency.
* Sous Chef – Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and maintaining consistent food quality.
* Chef de Partie – Take responsibility for a specific section of the kitchen and ensure dishes are prepared to high standards.
* Commis / Junior Chef – Support the kitchen team with preparation and cooking, learning from senior chefs.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety compliance
* Assist with inventory, stock control, and kitchen organization
* Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and timely kitchen operations
* Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff (for Head Chef and Sous Chef roles)
What We Are Looking For
* Proven experience in a professional kitchen (level depends on position applied)
* Strong understanding of kitchen workflow and food preparation
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
* Team player with good communication and leadership skills
* Full Australian working rights
* RSA certification if alcohol service is involved (preferred)
