This is a 36-month fixed-term, full-time position commencing Term 1, ****.

The School
Kalumburu – meaning "Path By The River" – is the most northerly Aboriginal community in Western Australia. It is located on the banks of the King Edward River beside a long, deep billabong at the upriver end of the Malindjar Gorge. Road access is via the unsealed Gibb River Road and is seasonal. Kalumburu is often inaccessible by road for four to six months a year; access is by air and supplies are delivered by sea.
The Role
The successful applicant will deliver an engaging, whole-school Home Economics curriculum across primary and secondary year levels, with a strong emphasis on practical cooking, nutrition and life-skills programs. Responsibilities include:
Planning and teaching Home Economics lessons.
Facilitating small-group literacy and numeracy intervention for targeted students.
Co-ordinating the school's Breakfast Club and fostering positive morning routines.
Managing food ordering and stock control for classes and the Breakfast Club.
Building productive relationships with students, families and colleagues in a remote, culturally rich community.
Utilising technology within the Home Economics learning area.
The ideal candidate will be well-organised, capable of managing multiple responsibilities, creative and enthusiastic about hands-on teaching. They should thrive in a remote setting and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, initiative and ongoing professional development.

Teachers and school administrators at Kalumburu Remote Community School in **** are also eligible for a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $***** (per annum, gross, pro-rated).
Eligibility
Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

Consent to a nationally coordinated criminal history check and obtain a current screening clearance number before starting.
