Farm Hand
Our growing Leafy greens business, located in Lockyer Valley, QLD, is looking for a 'hands-on', energetic and highly motivated farm hand to join our team. Initially this role is on a casual basis, however full-time employment will be offered to outstanding employees.
This position requires the successful applicant to have sound knowledge and experience in vegetable farming.
Ordinary Hours of Work are Monday-Friday, but the position requires the candidate to have a level of flexibility that requires working after hours and weekends.
YOUR BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
Practical background in vegetable farming or 2 years minimum in groundwork and general farming duties.
(emphasis placed on baby leaf or lettuce experience) would be highly regarded.
In addition, the following skills and experience will be required:
* Ability to work independently
* Tractor driving
* Land preparation
* Experience in Irrigation
* Cultivation
* Bed forming
* Spraying
* General tractor work
* Hold current chemical certification (would be highly advantageous)
* Willing to work flexible hours
* Mechanically minded
