Laidley State High School is seeking an experienced and committed educational leader to join our Leadership Team as Head of Special Education Services (HOSES).
In this permanent role, you will lead inclusive education practices across the school, driving a shared understanding of inclusion and improved outcomes in student learning, engagement and wellbeing.
You will provide strong relational and instructional leadership to the Special Education team, supporting staff to plan, implement and document high-quality differentiated teaching practices, with a focus on students requiring substantial and extensive adjustments.
You will be responsible for implementing key accountability processes including ICPs and NCCD.
About The Role
As the Head of Special Education Services (HOSES), you will be a key member of the School Leadership Team, leading inclusive education practices across the school. You will drive improved student outcomes in learning, engagement and wellbeing, particularly for students requiring substantial and extensive adjustments.
You will provide strong relational and instructional leadership to the Special Education team, while also influencing inclusive curriculum planning and pedagogical practices across all faculties.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation of inclusive education practices aligned to departmental policies and school priorities
* Contribute to the school's improvement agenda as an active member of the Leadership Team
* Build staff capability in differentiated teaching and inclusive pedagogies
* Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of individualised student supports and plans
* Lead and manage the Special Education team to deliver high-quality, targeted support
* Establish and maintain productive partnerships with parents, external agencies and community stakeholders
* Effectively manage human, financial and physical resources to achieve strategic outcomes
