$116K – $124K Total Remuneration Package (pro-rata)
$102K – $109K Base Salary (pro-rata)

About the Role
In this leadership position, responsible for managing a newly formed external funding program and various extension services for the Natural Areas team, ensuring high-quality outcomes that maintain the rich biodiversity of the Sunshine Coast. You will lead the operations, development and delivery of the Regional Flying Fox Management Plan and associated programs, while identifying and coordinating external funding opportunities that align with branch priorities. This role is central to driving innovative environmental practices and creating a sustainable future for our community.
Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of the Sunshine Coast Regional Flying Fox Management Plan and maintain a SEQ regional network.
Lead the operational delivery program and associated staff for Council's flying fox roost management.
Develop innovative tools and practices to influence planning and reduce human–wildlife conflict.
Provide strategic advice and technical solutions for sustainable environmental outcomes.
Coordinate extension services and create efficiencies through partnerships and new approaches.
Secure external funding to support environmental programs.
Ensure compliance with legislation and represent Council in key technical forums.
Prepare reports, presentations and communications to support program performance.
About you
Degree in a relevant discipline or substantial experience in wildlife ecology or extension services.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to lead operational teams and foster a positive work culture.
Knowledge of relevant legislation (Nature Conservation Act ****, EPBC Act ****).
High-level research, analytical and organisational skills.
Criminal history checks, pre-employment medical, physical fitness, Blue Card eligibility and C Class Driver Licence.
