The current lead is retiring, and we need you to ensure efficient SAP payroll processing for all UGL employees. Enjoy team lunches, homemade food, and celebrations with us.Our payroll team operates with best practice Segregation of Duties, divided into data management, processing, and accounting teams. The team comprises 23 members, with 8 direct reports to this role, managing payroll for approximately 10,000 workers each month across ten payrolls for salaried, casual, and blue-collar workers.Managing our blue-collar workforce across various projects and sites involves handling complex employee scenarios, including multiple site allowances, shift allowances, over 100 EBA’s and Awards, LAFHA, FIFO, and specific client-based agreements.The OpportunityThis role is ideal for a seasoned, tech-savvy payroll professional looking to lead an experienced team and drive continuous improvement in payroll processes.Refine SAP/HCM integration and processes, and participate in upgrades to SAP S/4HANA, upcoming superannuation changes, and future timesheet solutions.Utilize your technical skills to guide system adoption and optimization.Gain insights into sectors like energy, power, resources, water, defence, telecoms, transport, and manufacturing.Drive process improvements.Work from home 3 days per week.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily payroll operations, ensure full SAP functionality, and authorized transmission of net pay transactions.Handle ServiceNow tickets related to payments, pay slips, reconciliations, STP submissions, and quotes.Balance BAU activities with projects such as system improvements, SAP S/4HANA upgrade, superannuation updates, and timesheet solutions.Lead regular team meetings to address issues, suggest improvements, and communicate changes.About YouExtensive experience processing complex payrolls in a large corporate environment using SAP and ServiceNow.Tech-savvy with advanced MS Excel skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and knowledge of EBAs.Excellent communication skills and proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.If you are a motivated payroll professional seeking a leadership role within a friendly and experienced team, we want to hear from you!What we offerHybrid work environment.Individual Development Plan.Medibank Corporate Discount.AIA Vitality membership.Salary Continuance Insurance.Employee Assistance Program.Rewards & Cashback Program.About UsUGL provides end-to-end engineering, construction, and maintenance services across rail, transport, communications, oil and gas, power, renewables, water, and defence sectors.
