Community Transport Services Tasmania (CTST) is a not‐for‐profit organisation providing transport, home maintenance, social support, disability services and domestic assistance to older Tasmanians and people with mobility or health limitations. With a dedicated workforce of over 500 staff and volunteers and a fleet of 100+ vehicles, our mission is simple: to ensure every Tasmanian can access high‐quality, reliable support to live well and stay connected to their community.
Our home services are delivered through Mersey Community Care Association.
We're looking for practical, hands‐on people with experience in gardening, landscaping, trades or general maintenance to join our Home Maintenance team as Home Maintenance Field Workers.

About the Role
You'll provide general home and garden maintenance to help older Tasmanians and people living with disability maintain safe, tidy and comfortable outdoor spaces. Tasks vary day‐to‐day and may include mowing, pruning, clearing pathways, minor repairs and one‐off internal maintenance jobs as required.
You'll work in a small crew of 2 - 3 people across different properties. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in quality service, and values meaningful community impact.

What You'll Be Doing
* Carry out garden and home maintenance tasks based on job sheets and assessments
* Complete onsite safety checks before starting work
* Operate equipment such as mowers, whipper‐snippers, blowers and hand tools
* Identify hazards and report them to the Home Maintenance Coordinator
* Maintain CTST equipment and vehicles in clean, safe condition
* Complete simple paperwork such as safety checklists and receipts
* Support home maintenance volunteers when required
* Promote CTST's values and contribute to a safe, positive and consumer‐centred culture
About You
You are practical, self‐motivated and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team. You take pride in your work, communicate well with others and can adapt to changing priorities.
You will bring:
* Experience in gardening, landscaping, trades, property maintenance or similar
* Confidence using home and garden maintenance equipment
* Strong time‐management and the ability to work independently
* Good communication skills and a respectful, consumer‐focused approach
* Reliability, punctuality and pride in your work
* A proactive attitude and commitment to safe work practices
* Experience working with older people or people with disability
* Knowledge of the Devonport, Kentish, Latrobe and Central Coast municipalities
Licences & Requirements
All CTST employees must:
* Hold a current driver's licence
* Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Working with Vulnerable People Registration
* Be an Australian Resident or hold a valid Australian working visa
* Be willing to travel intrastate as required
