Control Room Operator - Traffic Management

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Control Room Operator to join our team. As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling traffic flow on our network, using advanced surveillance systems to identify congestion and responding promptly to incidents.
You will work closely with our Operations Team to ensure that all incidents are responded to in accordance with contract requirements and that all KPIs are met.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform duties of the Control Room Operator in the 24-hour 7-day week operation of the control room when on roster.
* Monitoring the asset and identify congestion, using the correct surveillance systems.
* Providing a professional level of customer service to the client with regard to the daily operations and incident management.
* Initiating incident and emergency response processes in accordance with the procedures and rosters taking the lead in ensuring that all incidents are responded to in accordance with the contract requirements.
* Reporting and document all incidents, accidents, complaints and equipment failure.
* Assisting the Control Room Manager in the execution of operations activities in compliance with procedures.
* Actively monitor and respond to alarms associated with the ITS.
* Identifying assets which require corrective maintenance and initiate process in accordance with the operating guidelines.
* Participating in the response to unplanned incidents.
* Proactively managing the lane availability compliance.
* Proactively managing all relevant KPI's for the Peninsula Link Control Room.
* Managing the Afterhours Hazardous call for VRMC.
Requirements
* Minimum three years' experience in similar role (Traffic Management or Control Room Environment).
* Undertake control room duties in accordance with the Freeway Operations Manual and supporting processes.
* Ability to proactively raise any opportunities to improve the control room operations, customer service and road safety.
* Current Drivers Licence.
* Current First Aid desirable.
* Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
