Program PMO Lead – 12-Month Contract Independent Contractor | Full-time Day Rate: Open – Guide $1100–1500/day (negotiable for the right person) We’re looking for an experienced Program PMO Lead to join a major integration program in the utilities sector. This is a 12-month full-time contract for independent contractors only – ABN, ACN, and insurances required. The role: Reporting directly to the Integration Project Director, you’ll establish and lead the Program Management Office, overseeing PMO operations across multiple streams. You’ll ensure delivery is structured, consistent, and aligned with overall program goals and governance. Key responsibilities: Develop and maintain high-level program plans, tracking milestones and payments Manage program resourcing plans, including onboarding and offboarding Establish and uphold document and approval governance across the program Maintain robust risk and issue management processes Lead program-wide status reporting across key forums (SteerCos, ELT, workstream groups) Oversee financial reporting processes, including actuals vs budget tracking Ensure the PMO function operates within agreed budget parameters What we’re looking for: Strong experience leading PMOs within large, complex programs Hands-on approach to setting up and embedding project governance frameworks Comfortable working across a diverse stakeholder group including ELT, consultants, and delivery teams Background in Utilities, Construction, or Industrial Services is a must Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management Clear communicator who can work independently and drive structure without overcomplicating delivery This is a senior-level role with broad oversight, perfect for someone who’s confident building and running a PMO from the ground up. You’ll need to bring structure, clarity, and pace — no hand-holding here. Day rate: We're flexible and open to negotiation, but a range of $1100–1500/day is a realistic benchmark based on the complexity and seniority of the role.
