Your Role

Join a dedicated refuge team supporting women and children experiencing domestic and family violence and homelessness. In this hands‐on role, you will help welcome new clients, provide day‐to‐day support, and ensure the refuge remains a safe, stable, and empowering environment. You will play a key part in the daily operations of the refuge, working closely with Case Workers to support clients through crisis and recovery.

Your Responsibility

* Support clients with day‐to‐day needs, including children
* Assist with client intake, daily handovers, and accurate record keeping
* Contribute to a safe, welcoming, and trauma‐informed environment
* Support and supervise client activities, groups, and programmes
* Provide practical support, information, and referrals
* Advocate for clients with external services as required
* Transport clients when needed
* Assist with accommodation operations, including general upkeep and infection control
* Support clients to build independent living skills
* Work collaboratively within a team and across services

You Will Need

* Being a woman is a genuine occupational requirement for this role under Section 31 of the Anti‐Discrimination Act 1977
* Certificate or relevant experience in accommodation or community support, or currently studying
* Understanding of domestic and family violence and its impact on women and children
* Strong communication and computer skills
* Ability to work independently and contribute to a positive team environment
* Sound judgement and confidence in crisis situations
* Compassionate, respectful, and non‐judgmental approach
* Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
* Flexibility to work shifts, including public holidays if rostered
* Current First Aid Certificate
