The Opportunity This is far more than a traditional General Manager role. You will become the senior operational and commercial leader of the business, taking responsibility for financial performance, operational execution, strategic planning, customer relationships, inventory management, supply chain performance, risk management and business improvement initiatives. Working closely with the owners, you will help guide the business through changing market conditions while identifying opportunities to strengthen customer engagement, improve operational performance and capitalise on emerging growth opportunities. You will lead an established team across multiple business functions and play a critical role in ensuring the business remains profitable, competitive and well positioned for the future. Key Responsibilities • Lead the overall commercial, financial and operational performance of the business. • Develop and execute business plans that support sustainable growth and profitability. • Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial reporting and banking relationships. • Drive operational excellence across manufacturing, warehousing, inventory and supply chain functions. • Lead and develop a team of experienced managers and specialists. • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and organisational performance. • Oversee governance, compliance, risk management and insurance activities. • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and strategic partners. • Partner with the owners to evaluate growth opportunities and long term business strategy. • Drive initiatives that strengthen customer acquisition, market positioning and digital engagement. • Ensure the business continues to adapt to changing customer expectations and industry trends. About You You are a commercially minded leader who combines strong financial capability with proven operational leadership experience. You are comfortable operating at both strategic and hands on levels and possess the credibility to influence experienced stakeholders while building trust across all areas of the organisation. You may currently be working as a General Manager, Chief Operating Officer, Commercial Director, Business Unit Leader, Managing Director or a senior executive seeking a broader leadership opportunity. To be successful, you will bring: • Proven experience leading the commercial and operational performance of a business. • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management. • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial, technical or related sectors. • Demonstrated success driving operational improvement and business performance. • Strong commercial judgement and strategic thinking capability. • The ability to balance long term planning with day to day execution. • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills. • A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions focused approach. • The confidence to challenge constructively, influence effectively and lead with credibility.
