Job Title:

Clinical Nurse Manager - Communicable Disease Control


This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment until January 11, 2026 with the possibility of extension. We are seeking a passionate and experienced leader who can manage and lead the Disease Control Team ensuring effective operations and compliance with public health standards.


We are looking for someone who demonstrates expertise in communicable disease management and immunisation programs aligned with State and National health targets. The ideal candidate will plan develop implement and evaluate disease control and public health initiatives based on local state and national priorities.


The successful applicant will foster a skilled and knowledgeable team through workforce training and professional development. They will act as a consultant on public health issues providing expertise to health services external organisations and community groups.


To be eligible for this role applicants must have eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. A current Immunisation Certificate is also required.

Key Requirements:


1. Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
2. A current Immunisation Certificate.
3. Extensive senior-level experience in community nursing within clinical and population health programs.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of communicable disease surveillance and control methods.
5. Advanced skills in program planning service coordination and evaluation.
6. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including negotiation facilitation and interpersonal abilities.
7. Proven experience in health management systems including data analysis and interpretation.
8. Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in Equal Opportunity Disability Services and Occupational Safety & Health.
9. A current C or C-A class driver's licence.
10. Leadership and management experience in a multidisciplinary team.
11. Postgraduate qualifications in health leadership and management or progress towards these qualifications.
