Key responsibilities include:
1. Statutory accounting - assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts for lodgement with ASIC including collection of information, preparation of left hand notes, reconciliations and other work papers
2. Accounting for corporate and consolidated group transactions
3. Lease accounting
4. Treasury accounting including hedge accounting and hedge effectiveness testing
5. Preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations for corporate function
6. Assisting with the maintenance of the various corporate models including, impairment model, cash flow model and deed of cross guarantee group balance sheet.
7. Preparation of Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reporting
8. Assisting with the monitoring and review of the preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations across the Pacific National business
About you
To succeed in this role, initiative, effective communication, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with systems and reporting tools. Other required skills, experience and attributes include:
9. Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance
10. Ideally, Chartered Big 4 background (preferred but not essential)
11. CA/CPA qualification
12. Advanced Excel skills
13. Experience with PeopleSoft, TM1, and Visual Risk (preferred but not essential)
