Sydney Fish Market (SFM) is the southern hemisphere's largest fish market, one of Australia's most visited attractions, and the beating heart of the nation's seafood industry.

We're preparing to open the new Sydney Fish Market (nSFM) – a one‑once‑in‑a‑generation precinct that redefines the retail, dining, and wholesale experience on Sydney's waterfront.

As we enter this exciting new era, we are looking for a Inventory & Export Data Clerk who will be responsible for the efficient and accurate recording of all data capture procedures related to goods received (seafood consignments / shipments) for auction presentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Shifts available 8:00 pm – 4:00 am and/or 9:00 pm – 5:00 am, Sunday to Thursday.
* Accurate and efficient entry of data related to seafood consignments, including delivery details, product specifications, weights, grades, and number of units received by packaging type.
* Verification of product information matches consignment documentation (reconcile manifests), recording any non‑conformances or variations against prescribed specifications.
* Preparation of daily auction catalogues in advance of pre‑inspection by Auctioneers and Quality Assurance Officers.
* Support to the Goods Receipt team with the unloading and sorting activities as required, including re‑icing product where necessary.
* Assistance with seafood species and quality identification as skills and knowledge develop.
* Timely and effective support to the Sales Support Team to resolve queries.
* Support to Operations, Auctioneers and QA teams where applicable.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

* Previous experience in data entry, administration, or record‑keeping (experience in seafood, fresh produce, or food wholesale preferred).
* Knowledge of fish and ability to identify species and quality of fish is desirable.
* Familiarity with food safety systems, HACCP principles, or Quality Assurance programs highly regarded.
* Good oral and written communication.
* Excellent keyboard and computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
* Strong Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy is essential.
* Flexibility to work variable working hours in line with auction schedules and cover absences of other team members.
* You will have Permanent Australian work rights, TFN and Bank Account.
* Able to work in a cold warehouse environment doing heavy lifting up to 25 kg and continuous manual handling.
