Job Description:
The General Surgery Fellow will be responsible for the daily care of acute surgical patients and participating in emergency operating theatre duties. This role is primarily involved in Breast Clinic, MDT, and Breast & Endocrine Surgery operating lists.
You will work closely with consultant surgeons to ensure the provision of an efficient, equitable, and effective clinical service to hospital clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Participate in daily care of acute surgical patients under the supervision of consultant surgeons.
* Contribute to emergency operating theatre duties when scheduled.
* Primary involvement in Breast Clinic, MDT, and Breast & Endocrine Surgery operating lists.
* Take part in a 24-hour on-call roster as the first point of contact, supported by a rostered-on call consultant.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) or recognized equivalent.
* MBBS or equivalent qualification registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Specialist Registration in General Surgery with the Medical Board of Australia at commencement of employment.
* Vaccination against certain vaccine-preventable diseases as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.
