Job Title: Senior Gas Power Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Senior Gas Power Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of our gas power plant project.
About the Role:
1. Manage design activities and supervise a team of engineers, drafters and external consultants to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of quality, safe and compliant designs and associated engineering artefacts.
2. Engage local design & engineering consultants / design-houses to seek external expertise for various design and engineering elements related projects.
3. Be the single point of contact on design and technical matters to the project leadership team and headquarters engineering division and to external stakeholders.
4. Development of concept and tender designs for gas power projects, applying knowledge and past experience to ensure optimal project outcomes during the pre-contract phase.
5. Support estimating with generation of engineering quantities and RFQ packages for tenders and bids during the pre-contract phase.
6. Effectively coordinate multi-discipline designs to ensure all interfaces are addressed and risks are appropriately managed. These design disciplines include performance, mechanical, piping, electrical, I&C, civil & structural, fire protection & fighting, HVAC, environment, comms & SCADA.
7. Be proactive in resolving technical issues as they arise, working effectively with the relevant project design team and the wider headquarters engineering division where necessary.
8. Monitor project efficiency by reviewing performance against budget and implement actions to ensure targets are met.
9. Experience at a senior level within a project-based utility or construction company in one or more relevant design disciplines is required.
10. A high level of ability in the preparation and review of engineering designs to all applicable client, legislative and standard requirements is essential.
11. Application of ISO9000/QA processes and procedures, Engineering codes of practice and industry standards must be applied.
About You:
* A tertiary qualification in engineering or an equivalent discipline is required.
* Minimum 15 years' experience in gas power (OCGT/CCGT) engineering and construction industries is required.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in design management in gas power (OCGT/CCGT) engineering and construction industries is required.
* Proven experience in managing multiple design consultants on complex, multidisciplinary gas power projects, including establishing and managing quality systems to ensure the integrity of design is essential.
* Good understanding of power generation projects is required.
* Experience working on large scale construction projects or other relevant projects works is essential.
* Strong experience in project requirements management, interface management, integration management using Systems Engineering principles is required.
* Strong constructability experience in design is required.
* Strong multi-disciplinary coordination experience is essential.
* Sound knowledge of technical engineering specifications is required.
* Sound project management skills are essential.
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is required.
* Advanced technical skills are essential.
