Our client is one of Australia's trusted names in construction fasteners, anchoring systems, tools, and fixings — proudly supporting builders, engineers, and infrastructure projects across the nation. As they continue to grow, they're seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead the Australian finance team and play a key role in driving commercial and operational performance across the business.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Company Director, this role is responsible for the full scope of financial operations, reporting, and commercial management. You'll oversee a capable team covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll, and work closely with the Sales, Engineering, Operations and Executives to deliver meaningful financial insights that guide business decisions and growth strategies. As a key member of a global finance team, you will align systems, processes and policies to create synergies across regions.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
* Lead, train, and support the finance team to achieve accuracy, efficiency, and professional development.
* Analyse product categories and pricing strategies that support business strategies.
* Partner with the Sales and Operations teams to evaluate project profitability, commercial contracts and pricing strategies.
* Develop and implement robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure effective financial management.
* Monitor cash flow, budgets, and performance — identifying risks and opportunities.
* Analyse business data to identify trends and future business improvement opportunities.
* Present reports with commentary that guide and support executive decision-making processes.
* Manage tax compliance, quarterly BAS/GST, and external audit coordination.
* Develop management reporting packs, board reports, dashboards, and variance analysis.
* Collaborate with all department heads to analyse profitability and optimise resource allocation.
* Enhance and automate accounting systems for better performance and reporting accuracy.
* Identify and resolve reporting gaps to strengthen financial visibility and efficiency.
About You
You're an accomplished finance leader with a passion for operational excellence and a strong commercial mindset. You're confident leading a team, enjoy improving systems, and can translate financial data into strategic business insights.
Your background includes
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CA qualified).
* 5+ years' experience in a senior financial management role — construction materials or manufacturing industry preferred.
* Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory frameworks.
* Proven skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
* High proficiency in accounting systems, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills — collaborative, proactive, and detail-focused.
