* Direct and manage daily food preparation, ensuring all dishes consistently meet high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
* Oversee kitchen operations during busy service periods, maintaining smooth workflow and timely order delivery.
* Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal produce and customer preferences.
* Prepare and present a variety of café-style meals with consistency, creativity, and attention to detail.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance to maintain performance and efficiency.
* Foster a positive and team-focused kitchen environment that supports collaboration and productivity.
* Coordinate with front-of-house staff and management to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
* Maintain accurate records, including food safety logs, cleaning schedules, and compliance documentation.
* Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
* Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and support cost control by reducing waste and improving efficiency.
* Accommodate special dietary needs and customer requests while maintaining quality and consistency.
* Apply strong practical skills across grill, tandoor, larder, and hot kitchen sections.
* Utilise expertise in menu planning, inventory control, and staff supervision while upholding high food safety standards.
* Remain committed to delivering high-quality meals and contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented kitchen environment.
To be successful in this role, it is essential you have:
* Hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
* Possess a minimum of two years' experience as a Chef in a busy, professional kitchen, preferably within well-established dining venues.
* Demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory abilities, with the capability to train, motivate, and effectively manage kitchen staff.
* Have a solid understanding of diverse cuisines, ingredients, and cooking techniques, with the ability to maintain high culinary standards.
* Be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while ensuring consistency and quality.
* Show strong attention to detail, creativity, and a genuine passion for food preparation and presentation.
