An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Coder, who participates in a team environment that ensures the accuracy of clinical coding by interpreting and abstracting relevant clinical information from medical records and other clinical information systems. Clinical Coding Services sits within the Finance & Business Services portfolio at the Sunshine Coast Hospital & Health Service (SCHHS) and provides financial leadership, business advice, and strategic financial policy and governance to enable SCHHS to deliver quality and efficient health services to the community. Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions Key Responsibilities include: Contribute to an accurate morbidity data base for the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) using the current edition of International Classification of Diseases 10th revision Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM), Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI) and Australian Coding Standards (ACS). Manage workload to achieve various local Health Service and State data and activity reporting deadlines. Contribute to the quality of the coding service by taking responsibility for personal development and awareness of updates in coding practice. Remuneration value up to $114 177 p.a., comprising salary between $90 832- $100 071 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $45.81 - $50.46p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO4) (permanentt full time or part time position available, hours negotiable).
