About our client
Our client is a Mandurah-based metal fabrication business delivering welding and fabrication services across mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium. With a strong emphasis on quality and precision, they support industrial, structural, and custom fabrication projects.
Our client is currently seeking a Leading Hand/2IC to join their team in their Greenfields workshop to strengthen leadership and maintain quality standards.
About the opportunity
In this role, you will be supporting the Workshop Manager, overseeing workflow coordination, production quality, and mentoring of up to 10 workshop staff, including apprentices and trade assistances. It combines hands-on fabrication with team leadership and continuous improvement duties.
Responsibilities include:
* Lead daily toolbox meetings and coordinate task briefs
* Maintain workshop safety standards and supervise quality checks
* Fabricate and weld components to specification and deadline
* Coordinate materials readiness, stock levels, and job organisation
About you
Our client requires a qualified fabricator, welder or boilermaker with proven experience across steel, aluminium and stainless welding.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* A forklift licence and a valid driver's licence
* An ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* MIG and TIG welding experience
* Workshop machinery and overhead crane experience (desirable)
