This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable engineer to contribute to the design and development of high‑quality heating solutions used across a range of industrial applications
The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical design and engineering development of Vulcan TEE’s heating elements and associated products, including immersion heaters, drum ovens, and electric duct heaters. You will work closely with production, supply chain, and customers to deliver compliant, efficient, and commercially viable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design customised heating solutions to meet client requirements and applicable industry standardsPrepare, submit, and review technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs)Produce detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorksCollaborate with production teams to optimise designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and lean production principlesWork with the supply chain team to identify suitable and cost‑effective materials and componentsSupport product testing, validation, and prototyping activities to ensure regulatory complianceProvide technical support to customers, including pre‑ and post‑sales consultationMaintain and update engineering documentation, BOMs, and production processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency
About You
This role will suit a detail‑oriented and technically competent engineer who enjoys working in a collaborative, hands‑on environment. You will bring:
A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineA minimum of 3 years’ experience in light fabrication industries (sheet metal experience highly desirable)Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and a solid understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processesWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with VBA or other scripting languages is advantageousFamiliarity with basic industrial electrical components and wiring diagramsExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
