Job Description:
The role of Social Worker involves working directly with children to develop their social and emotional skills. The successful candidate will need to be flexible in their approach to provide support for children who require it urgently.

* This position is part of the Department of Education's commitment to the Wellbeing Workforce, providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to students and their families.
* The role focuses on providing targeted mental health interventions and enhanced wellbeing supports to students and their families with mild to moderate mental health concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents, and families to assist them in addressing mild to moderate mental health needs.
2. Provide comprehensive support to families to improve the wellbeing of students.
3. Apply understanding of the mental health continuum to identify when students require additional mental health support outside of the school context.
4. Understand the mental health system to provide students who need additional support for their mental health concerns with warm referrals to external agencies.
Requirements:
* Possession of tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, a person is prohibited from working in regulated child-related employment unless the person holds a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
