Your next career opportunity
As a Senior Knowledge & Technology Transfer Manager, you'll play a crucial role in commercialising innovative technologies from the University's physical science disciplines. You'll assess invention disclosures, facilitate IP protection, and identify commercial partners or create start-ups to exploit these innovations. Working closely with researchers and industry partners, you'll have the opportunity to drive the development of cutting-edge technologies and shape their journey from lab to market.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Evaluate and Protect Intellectual Property: Assess invention disclosures for patentability and commercial potential, conduct IP landscape analyses, and secure IP rights.
* Develop Commercial Strategies: Identify commercial opportunities, conduct market analyses, and prepare technical and commercial development pathways for innovative technologies.
* Negotiate and Structure Deals: Lead complex transactions, including structuring and negotiating license agreements and investments in new start-ups.
* Foster Stakeholder Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with key University stakeholders, researchers, investment partners, and industry contacts.
You may be a great fit if:
You are an experienced professional with a strong background in physical sciences and technology transfer, possessing excellent analytical skills and the ability to navigate complex commercial transactions in an academic environment.
You may also:
* Have an advanced postgraduate degree in a physical science discipline with hands- on research experience.
* Possess 6+ years of experience in technology transfer or commercialising early- stage IP.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of IP types and protection strategies, particularly in patent rights.
* Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
* Show proficiency in conducting technical, IP, commercial, and legal due diligence.
* Possess experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercialisation transactions.
