Lecturer, Academic Calendar Transition Curriculum Development Lead (Phase 3)

* Employment Type: Part – time (21 hours a week)
* Duration: Fixed Term contract for 18 months
* Remuneration: $127k - $150k base prorated (+ 17% Super, leave loading)
* Working rights: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.
* Location: Kensington, Sydney


About This Position

This role has been created to support the Academic Calendar & Curriculum Transformation for the Medicine program in School of Clinical Medicine at UNSW. This role may be shared between two academics with fractions to be negotiated.

Some key responsibilities will include designing and developing learning activities, resources, assessment and feedback for Phase 3 Medicine students using a range of suitable approaches and learning environments; initiating the development of experimental approaches to teaching, learning and assessment with support from senior academics; and designing and developing supports for student learning progression both individually and as a cohort to achieve positive learning and employability outcomes.

The appointee/s will work closely with the Medicine Program Assessment Lead to design and develop the new programmatic assessment of learning program, including developing the student assessment dashboard. The appointee/s will also work collaboratively with Medicine Program Redesign Course Design Teams, Year-level Working Groups, Discipline Leads, Communities of Practice and professional staff.


Key Skills Required

* A PhD in a related discipline (preferred) or equivalent qualification, and/or a qualification in higher education and relevant work experience.
* Also considered is someone who has Clinical qualifications (e.g. FRACGP), who may not have a PhD, but has experience in assessment and/or a qualification in higher education.
* Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
* Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
* Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable).
* Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development.
* Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
