Cyber Security Engineer – Fiona Stanley Hospital, Murdoch, Perth
We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to protect the hospital's ICT systems, data, and digital assets. In this role you will design, implement, and maintain security solutions that safeguard a leading healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
* Implementing and managing advanced security systems such as firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability management solution and proxies
* Integrating and maintaining security tools across on‐premises and cloud platforms
* Identifying and implementing changes to optimise the incumbent security solutions to maximise the value of these investments
* Ensuring compliance with ACSC Essential 8, ASD ISM, and other governance standards
* Embedding security into applications and cloud environments through the development lifecycle
* Supporting Security Analysts to strengthen overall SOC capability and act as the escalation point of contact
* Collaborating with IT, network, and development teams to deliver secure, resilient solutions
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of Serco's cybersecurity governance framework
Qualifications
* Cloud Security Certifications are required
* Deep understanding of firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection technologies
* Experience in cyber security, vulnerability management, and identifying risks and their mitigation strategies
* Experience with Network Identity and Access Management tools is highly desirable
* Understanding of governance frameworks, NIST 2.0 CSF, ASD ISM, ACSC Essential 8, ISO27001
* Certifications in security toolsets are preferred
* ITIL Foundation Certification and/or CCNA Security - preferred
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Strong analytical, problem‐solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment and support on‐call operations as required
