Local Press Café is a vibrant, wholefoods‐focused café located on the water at Kingston Foreshore. We are passionate about serving healthy, unrefined, and delicious meals made from locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. Our menu caters to a variety of dietary preferences including meat, vegan, and plant‐based options.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful applicant will work collaboratively within a dynamic café environment and contribute to delivering high‐quality meals that reflect our passion for wholesome, seasonal cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cook at Local Press Café, you will:
● Prepare and cook menu items efficiently and consistently to the café's standards.
● Follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and presentation standards.
● Ensure food quality, freshness, and safety at all stages of preparation.
● Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, complying with food safety regulations.
● Assist with stock rotation, inventory management, and kitchen organisation.
● Work collaboratively with other kitchen and front‐of‐house staff to deliver excellent customer service.
* Support menu innovation and seasonal food preparation.
* Assist with daily kitchen setup and closing procedures.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should demonstrate:
● Minimum 1–2 years of proven experience in a professional kitchen or café environment.
● Strong knowledge of food handling, hygiene, and industry‐standard kitchen practices.
● Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.
