About the Role
Nyrstar Hobart is a large-scale zinc smelter situated on Hobart's River Derwent, close to the city center.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Month-end and year-end general ledger and transactions
2. Capital accounting, depreciation, and amortization
3. Managing intercompany transactions
4. Financial forecasting and budgeting
5. Supporting tax deliverables with the Senior Tax Accountant
6. Assisting Accounts Payable processes
7. Providing financial and cost analysis support to site management
8. Identifying continuous improvement opportunities
9. Ensuring policy and statutory compliance
About You:
1. You should have at least 3 years of accounting experience
2. A tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting
3. Experience in heavy industry, mining, or processing facilities
4. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with SAP/ERP systems
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
6. High attention to detail and accuracy
7. Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
8. Ability to thrive in a demanding global environment
