Operations Coordinator – Nautilus Aviation - Helifish

The Company:
Nautilus Aviation is a privately owned and operated helicopter specialist with over 25 years of flying experience. It has grown to become one of Australia's premier helicopter operators, with bases spanning Cairns, Port Douglas, Townsville, Darwin, Jabiru, Gove, and Torres Strait (Horn Island).
We are known for our diverse fleet, commitment to safety, and excellent customer service, providing commercial air work, pilot training, Search & Rescue, and chartered flights, often in partnership with top tourism operators over iconic Northern Australian landscapes.
Your New Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate the daily operations of Nautilus Aviation and Helifish Darwin base. This involves making quick operational decisions, optimizing asset utilization, minimizing disruptions, and facilitating information flow to pilots, crew, customer service, and sales teams, along with logistical support and resource coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily flight operations in accordance with policies and regulations
* Manage reservations and new bookings
* Ensure efficient utilization of aircraft and assets
* Monitor Search & Rescue operations
* Conduct flight planning
* Prepare requests for quotations
* Meet and brief passengers
This role may require working weekends and public holidays occasionally.
About You:

* Good time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills
* Exceptional customer service abilities
* Strong interpersonal skills for relationship building
* Effective communication skills (spoken, written, active listening)
* Discretion with confidential information
* Problem-solving skills with resourcefulness and practicality
* Attention to detail and strong communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems (e.g., Takeflite, Air Maestro)
Skills & Experience:
* Ability to pass a company drug & alcohol test
* Manual driver's license (Car)
* Ability to obtain and hold an Aviation Security Identification Card
* High-level computer skills
* Previous operations/logistics background
* Previous aviation experience
* Knowledge of remote Northern NT geography
