Manager Transport and Assets Infrastructure Services Contract Position - 3 Years

About this opportunity

The Manager Transport and Assets provides strategic leadership to plan, deliver, and maintain Council's transport and infrastructure assets in a safe, sustainable, and efficient manner. The role drives innovation, resilience, and continuous improvement across asset management, capital works, road maintenance, and design services, ensuring services meet the changing needs of the community.

The position is based in Beaudesert, but you may be required to work from any of Council's offices (Boonah and Tamborine Mountain) or facilities within the Scenic Rim.

Additionally, you'll also …

* Provide collaborative leadership with executive peers to ensure Transport and Assets operations align with Corporate and Operational Plans, supporting organisational performance and long-term community outcomes.
* Lead and manage the Transport and Assets Department covering asset management, capital works, engineering, design, survey, road corridor operations, maintenance and construction—to ensure cohesive planning, delivery and maintenance of Council's infrastructure network.
* Oversee development and implementation of strategies, policies, procedures and sustainable business practices. Ensure robust risk identification and management while driving continuous improvement and sound financial practices.
* Provide timely, well-researched advice and documentation to the CEO, Mayor, Councilors and internal stakeholders. Represent Council in negotiations with government agencies, industry partners and the community, critically analysing regional issues and proposals.
* Build high-performing teams through coaching, development and clear communication. Foster collaboration across internal and external stakeholders, inspiring staff and supporting organisational culture and performance.

About you…

* Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, or a related discipline, as well as significant management experience relevant to the position.
* Demonstrated high level communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage and interface in the public and private sector environments.
* Demonstrated ability to successfully manage capital works programs, engineering functions, asset management, works and construction in relation to a Transport and Assets area.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively and sensitively introduce and manage complex change initiatives to support optimal service delivery outcomes;
* Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and lead self and others in strategic and business improvement initiatives across a large diverse business unit.
