The Opportunity: This opportunity will see you join our operations team as a Claims Assessor. As a Claims Assessor you will assess and manage a portfolio of claims, which may include Income protection, Total and Permanent Disability, and Temporary Incapacity and Disablement claims in line with Trust Deed, Regulations, business rules and SIS legislation. Your responsibilities will also include: Reviewing all declined Insurer decisions in line with the terms and conditions of the respective policies and legislation Establish a relationship and build rapport with the member and/or claimant End to end assessment accountability and ownership of your portfolio of claims Liaising with the members, Insurer, relative 3rd parties and internal stakeholders to resolve contentious claims matters Conduct Tele-Interviews with members for Temporary Incapacity and Disablement claims About You We are looking for an individual who has worked in fast moving transformation environment and is comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity. Your supportive, professional and empathetic nature allows you to provide the care our members need, often at very challenging times. You are also highly organised with strong analytical and negotiation skills with experience in the following areas: At least 2 years experience assessing Income Protection and Total and Permanent Disability claims Sound understanding of Industry Best Practice and assessment guiding principles Experience dealing with self and external insurance arrangements, defined benefits would be advantageous The US way UniSuper believes that the best way to achieve great things is when we come together and collaborate.
