Community Housing Limited (CHL) is seeking an experienced Painter to join our Internal Maintenance Service (IMS) team. This role provides painting and associated maintenance support across CHL properties in the region, helping to keep homes safe, functional and presented to a high standard for customers.
The Role
* This is a full-time permanent role, offering a market rate salary with salary packaging available
* The role involves travel between CHL properties and sites as required
* You will be provided with the tools, systems and support to deliver quality, timely maintenance outcomes
Reporting to the IMS Supervisor, the IMS Painter works within the painting department of the Internal Maintenance Service (IMS) team to provide grounds and property maintenance support to CHL properties in the region. This is an important role contributing to CHL's vision of a world without housing poverty, and requires a strong commitment to safety, quality and customer-focused outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Undertake hands‐on painting, maintenance and cleaning tasks across CHL properties
* Coordinate works to ensure jobs are completed on time and to required standards
* Order materials and products to ensure sufficient and timely supply to complete activities
* Manage, mentor, supervise and teach the IMS apprentice painter
* Prepare quotes and support job scoping as required
* Ensure administrative tasks associated with contracts, jobs and staff are completed accurately and on time
* Actively seek opportunities for new project development and implementation
* Provide additional appropriate support to the wider IMS team and organisation as needed
* Work in accordance with WHS legislation and CHL policies and procedures, promoting safe work practices for yourself and others
About You
* Trade qualification and demonstrated experience in painting (residential and/or maintenance environments)
* White Card and relevant WHS/OHS training (including asbestos awareness, working with lead, and working safely at heights)
* Ability to plan and coordinate work to meet timeframes and required standards, including ordering materials and maintaining stock as required
* Basic administrative and quoting capability, with attention to detail
* Commitment to the right of every person to good quality housing and alignment with CHL's values
* Current Driver's Licence
* Satisfactory Police Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain/maintain as required)
