Job Title: Data Scientist
Data science is an interdisciplinary field that combines computer science, statistics, and domain-specific knowledge to extract insights from complex data sets. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable information, uncovering valuable insights, and delivering significant value to the business.
The ideal candidate will have experience in developing predictive models, working with big data technology, and designing solutions that deliver value to the business. They will also have fluency in at least one programming language, R, Python or Scala, and an intermediate understanding of machine learning, database wrangling, and data visualisation.
A successful data scientist will have foundational knowledge of data mining tools, methodologies, and techniques applied to big data streams. They will also be able to communicate complex ideas effectively and lead by example, modelling behaviours that support a culture of safety, health and wellness.
Main Responsibilities
Monitor and optimize learning processes to improve high-performance models
Develop predictive models and leverage big data technology to design solutions
Work with other data and analytics professionals to refine and industrialise analysis into analytics solutions
Key Skills and Qualifications
Fluency in R, Python or Scala
Intermediate understanding of machine learning, database wrangling, and data visualisation
Ability to design and construct new processes for modelling data
