**Position Description**

**YOUR NEW ROLE**

The Vice President (VP) - UD Sales is an executive leadership position with overall responsibility for the UD Trucks Brand in Australia ensuring continued growth of the brand, on the back of three consecutive record years in the market. Liaising with UD International Sales (UDIS), this role will have a direct impact on implementing the local Brand strategy to align with the Global business
Leading four direct reports and working cross functionally with a diverse range of departments, the VP UD is responsible for delivering the brand's strategic objectives, and for motivating and inspiring teams both internally and across the dealer network in relation to the UD brand, including its Better Life Strategy and brand promise of Ultimate Dependability.
Key responsibilities include:

- Provide strong leadership required to ensure the consistent and effective operational and commercial performance of the UD Brand and its sustainable profitable growth
- In consultation with other Executives, make recommendations and sales strategies to increase increase customer satisfaction, brand image, sales performance and profitability.
- Drive strategic business growth through effective cross functional teams (commercial crew) developing customer focused initiatives and innovations - taking responsibility for key customers as required
- Optimise departmental competence by identifying individuals and specific needs and ensuring effective plans are in place to support the regional strategy for talent and leadership development and succession planning
- Carry overall responsibility for Sales and Marketing of the UD brand in Australia including liaising with the organisation support functions, dealers and customers on a regular basis. This will include domestic and occasional international travel
- Regular reporting to both UD Trucks International Sales and Volvo Trucks International and be an active member of VGA's Executive Leadership team
- Develop and implement pricing policies and strategies - direction of sales administration, ordering, and inventory management
- Deliver agreed annual targets in relation to truck sales and consolidated GP
- The development, submission and follow-up of forecasts, business plans and budgets in relation to sales and marketing activities
- Co-ordinate introduction of new product models and business solutions onto the Australian market in conjunction with the Product Manager.
- Develop a high performing, effective team capable of delivering operational targets and VGA's strategic direction and build and role model a culture of continuous improvement, and what UD call "The Gemba Spirit".

- A visionary leader that role models commitment and ownership of your function with an ability to build successful and innovative teams
- Possess a strategic and proactive mindset, taking ownership of setting and executing successfully targets and goals linked back to our overall group strategy
- Comprehensive and expert level understanding of the transport and logistics industry coupled with experience within the Transport Capital Equipment Industry inclusive of Sales and Product marketing responsibilities
- A strong understanding of the UD business and its processes both on a local and global basis
- A customer and team first focus with a solutions-based approach, motivated by continuous improvement and challenging the status quo
- Exceptional communication, negotiation and organisational skills and proven relationship building ability at all levels
