Electrical Equipment Specialist Role
The Electrical Equipment Specialist plays a pivotal role in maintaining the electrical and electronic systems on vessels, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
Main Responsibilities
* Maintaining the vessel's electrical equipment, including routine checks and tests to prevent malfunctions and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Adopting safe working practices to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
* Performing maintenance tasks on communications, radio, and navigation equipment.
* Supporting efficient operations of electrical equipment during cargo handling.
Essential Qualifications
* Education: Compliant with AMSA Marine Order 72 requirements for Electro-Technical Officers.
* AMSA Electro-Technical Officer Certificate of Competency/CoR Unlimited.
* Minimum 12 months' relevant experience required.
* Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) desirable.
* Work Safely at Heights Certification desirable.
* Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification desirable.
* Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) required for employment.
* Australian citizenship or unlimited Australian work rights necessary.
