About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to individuals living with disabilities. This role requires experience and confidence in working within diverse environments which may include mental health challenges, complex needs, and high behaviours.
The successful candidates must be able to commit a variety of casual shifts with availability for short notice shifts, sleepovers, and shifts in the Blue Mountains area including Hazelbrook, Wentworth Falls, and Springwood.
Key Responsibilities
* Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
* Provide assistance with daily personal care tasks and manual handling
* Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
* Maintain thorough record keeping
* Build positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues
* Advocate for client choice and control
Requirements
* Experience working with people with disabilities
* Confidence in working with challenging behaviours
* Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software
* An unrestricted Australian driver's licence
* A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
