Your next career opportunity

As a Lecturer in Languages and Literacies Education, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of language teaching by engaging with pre‐service teachers across multiple languages. Bringing expertise in teaching Chinese as an additional language, as well as language education more broadly, you will contribute to the Master of Teaching and TESOL programmes, delivering inspiring courses and conducting groundbreaking research. Your role will involve mentoring students, developing curriculum, and fostering collaboration within the academic community.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Lead innovative language education: Coordinate and deliver engaging courses in language teaching, drawing on your expertise in teaching Chinese as an additional language.
* Advance research and scholarship: Develop and maintain a significant research programme, publish in high‐impact journals, and participate in conferences.
* Mentor and support students: Provide guidance and support to students, linking theory with practical application through clinical specialist duties.
* Contribute to academic leadership: Engage in faculty and university committees, support professional development, and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

You may be a great fit if:

You are an experienced educator with a PhD in Additional Languages education, specialising in teaching Chinese as an additional language, ready to lead innovative teaching and research in a collaborative academic environment.

You may also:

* Have professional experience teaching Chinese as an additional language in Australian schools.
* Possess strong digital literacy and knowledge of contemporary language education practices.
* Demonstrate a developing research profile with publications in relevant leading outlets.
* Have the ability to supervise graduate research students and contribute to academic programmes.
* Be collaborative and constructive in multidisciplinary teams, fostering a positive academic environment.
