The Managing Editorial Assistant provides administrative and project support to the Managing Editorial department and helps coordinate the publishing process from acquisition through publication. This entry-level role is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in beginning a career in children's book publishing.
Responsibilities:
* Processing acquisition paperwork received from the Editorial/Business Office
* Setting up new titles in the title management system, ensuring information is entered accurately.
* Trafficking various work through the department and updating internal systems.
* Prepares and distributes weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports.
* Scheduling and attending various meetings.
* Interact daily with editorial, design, production, sales, marketing, and legal departments.
Qualifications:
* Excellent organizational and computer skills needed
* College degree preferred
* Strong writing, grammatical, and communication skills required
* Interest in children's book publishing.
