About the Role
Based at Yumbah's Abalone Farming Operations at Point Boston, the Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Manager by maintaining plant and equipment, performing preventative maintenance and providing after-hours support. The role includes recording data, adhering to safety standards and participating in improvement initiatives to ensure efficient operations. The ideal candidate for this permanent position will have a can-do attitude and general maintenance or trades assistant experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities
* Work as directed by the Maintenance Manager, assessing and reporting maintenance requirements.
* Maintain plant and equipment and undertake preventative maintenance according to scheduled timelines.
* Provide after-hours, on-call support as needed.
* Record data accurately to ensure up-to-date maintenance records.
* Comply with Yumbah Policies and Procedures to ensure operational consistency.
* Identify and reporting hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
* Report incidents, accidents, and near misses immediately for prompt action.
* Actively participate in farm meetings, trials, initiatives, and improvement strategies to contribute to operational success.
* Perform housekeeping duties to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the business.

* Proven and demonstrated maintenance skills.
* Sound communication and time management skills.
* Able to work well as part of a team.
* Available for on-call, after hours support when needed.
