Practice Manager – GP Clinic
We are seeking a passionate, highly capable, and results‐driven Practice Manager to join our dynamic GP clinic in Muswellbrook Doctors. As our Practice Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the operational success, financial performance, and patient care standards of the clinic. You will lead and support a team of dedicated nurses and medical receptionists while working collaboratively with the general practitioners and Doctors & Co. management team to ensure the smooth, compliant, and profitable running of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
* Lead, mentor and manage multidisciplinary teams including GPs, nurses, and administrative staff
* Foster a positive, high‐performance workplace culture
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding, rostering, and performance management
* Manage staff training, development and compliance requirements
Clinical Governance & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with RACGP standards, Medicare regulations, and accreditation requirements
* Maintain infection control standards and workplace health & safety protocols
* Oversee emergency preparedness and crisis management procedures
* Ensure adherence to privacy laws and healthcare legislation
Operations & Practice Efficiency
* Ensure smooth patient flow, appointment scheduling, and optimal utilisation of GP sessions
* Monitor and improve practice workflows to reduce wait times and enhance patient experience
* Manage rostering, leave planning, and staffing coverage
* Oversee facility maintenance and medical supply procurement
Financial & Business Management
* Manage budgets, payroll oversight, and cost control initiatives
* Monitor Medicare billing, revenue cycle management, and reconciliation processes
* Track monthly performance targets and financial KPIs
* Support business growth initiatives aligned with group objectives
* Assist with health promotion and preventive care strategies to optimise patient outcomes
Patient Experience & Community Engagement
* Handle patient feedback and complaints professionally
* Promote culturally safe and inclusive healthcare services
* Support programs for diverse community groups including aged care, adolescents, migrants/refugees, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Technology & Reporting
* Oversee use of Practice Management software (Pracsoft, Medical Director, Best Practice)
* Ensure accurate Medicare item billing and compliance
* Use data analytics to drive informed business decisions and improve operational performance
About You
You are an advocate for safety, compassion, and professional integrity within the workplace.
* Minimum 2+ years' experience in Practice or Office Management (GP clinic experience highly preferred)
* Strong knowledge of Medicare billing, compliance and healthcare regulations
* Proven leadership experience within a medical or healthcare environment
* Excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills
* Strong communication and negotiation abilities
* Experience managing accreditation processes
* CPR/Triage training (desirable)
* Experience in complaint handling, emergency management, infection control and medical waste handling
* A collaborative, solution‐focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
