**About the Group**
The Strategic Operations Group is an enabling services function providing strategic support to
the Institute. The group comprises 5 areas covering Office of the Deputy CEO, People Services,
Finance, Digital Services and the Central Australia facility (Mparntwe).
**About the Program Area**
The Central Australia facility in Alice Springs is the first regional facility for AIATSIS outside of
Ngunnawal Country (ACT) and will provide culturally appropriate digitisation and storage
capacity along with local training opportunities.
The facility will also enable local preservation of community-held collection materials and
increased preservation and repatriation of Indigenous collections and cultural information. The
facility will deliver services to improve searching and accessing the AIATSIS Collection, training
opportunities and learning opportunities through exploration of our exhibition space and
cultural research including family history.
**Role Summary**
You will join a dedicated team of skilled technical staff, responsible for the preservation of
Indigenous collection materials. Your work will be to learn to preserve the cultural heritage
collection materials that detail the stories of local and regional Indigenous Communities and
individuals. You will receive training and be supported by the Senior Digitisation technician,
Assistant Director of the Collections Services, Central Australia, as well as the continuing
support of the ICT and Digitisation Teams at Maraga in Canberra.**
**Key Responsibilities**
