Overview:

Praetorian Aeronautics are currently seeking an Electronics & Electrical Engineer to contribute to the end-to-end product design, development, verification, validation, manufacturing, and sustainment of the electronics and electrical aspects on Praetorian's portfolio of products.

The successful candidate will:

* Have a strong understanding of electronics and electrical fundamentals, particularly in power electronics and embedded systems domains.
* Communicate complex technical information clearly.
* Be able to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians.
* Have excellent problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
* Have high attention to detail, ensuring all work products meet specification and quality standards.
* Have high proficiency with MS Office and E-CAD Packages, ideally Altium Designer.
* Be able to use basic electronics lab equipment such as DC powers supplies, programmable loads, multimeters, oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analysers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Clean-sheet design of digital, analogue, and power electronics for use on key avionics systems.
* Contribution to the integration and testing of electronics assemblies.
* Drafting schematics and PCB layouts, and generating output documentation.
* Reviewing other engineers work including conceptual mockups, schematics, and PCB layout.
* Participating in verification and validation for Design Test and Evaluation efforts, including troubleshooting design faults.
* Developing, executing, and reporting on engineering tests of critical subsystems.
* Writing reports and creating documentation based on engineering specifications, tests, verification, and validation efforts.
* Performing inspections on assemblies for compliance with specifications or engineering drawings.
* Contribution to the manufacturing-engineering and sustainment-engineering efforts.
* Liaising with external subcontractors and suppliers.
* Assisting with multiple workplace activities including flight trials, and laboratory setup.
* Upholding a safe work environment in line with our standards and protocols.
* Contributions to continuous improvement of internal products, processes, and standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

* A relevant university degree.
* 2–6 years of experience in a similar role.
* A strong interest or experience in avionics or Unmanned Aerial Systems.
