Offer description

If your idea of a good time involves layering dragon roars, ambient cave drips, and a melancholy lute solo into one glorious soundscape, then we've got a headset with your name on it.

We're looking for a talented Audio Engineer to join our game development team and help bring our games to life through sound. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining audio across mobile, console, and PC platforms. Reporting to a producer and working alongside designers, artists, and engineers, you'll be in charge of every footstep, spell, and musical cue. Experience with FMOD and Unity audio plugins is ideal, and bonus points if you've spent some time with WWise.

This is a full-time position. It is also a hybrid Office/WFH position with 2-3 days per week in our Collins St, Melbourne office (or more if you prefer). We are not taking international applications at this time.

If you don\'t meet all the criteria but still think you\'d be a great fit- Apply anyway We\'d love to hear from you.

About the role:

Reporting to a Producer, your responsibilities will include:

* Design and implement sound effects, ambient audio, and music across multiple games on multiple platforms.
* Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure audio enhances our gameplay.
* Work with FMOD and Unity to integrate audio assets into our games
* Contribute to audio documentation and pipeline improvements
* Stay current with audio tech trends and tools, and suggest innovations wherever makes sense

About you:

* Experience with designing and implementing game audio
* Some knowledge of FMOD
* A working knowledge of Unity, and familiarity with (non-FMOD) ways of dealing with audio in Unity
* Comfort working in a live-ops environment with frequent updates and evolving content
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate technical needs clearly
* Skills in other areas of game dev are a bonus
* Extra points for musical composition or VO editing experience

Please attach a cover letter to your application telling us a bit about yourself, the games you like, and how you think you\'d fit with us in this role. We ask that you do not use ChatGPT or other LLMs to write this letter. We know writing isn\'t everyone\'s strong suit, and that\'s okay. We\'d just like to get to know you
