About The Role
This position plays a key role in the overall, end-to-end digital program of works. From shaping the approach to achieving the desired outcomes through delivery. The position involves coordinating projects and resource management within the program, stakeholder and sponsor communications, reporting and program financial management. This role works collaboratively across Council in the planning and delivery of customer focused, sustainable digital programs of work to support our Digital Strategy and Corporate Plans.
The Team Manager Planning and Delivery is a Leadership role with clear expectations for role-modelling the performance standards, values, behaviours and attitudes that are integral to our workplace culture and stakeholder reputation as an organisation of excellence. The Team Manager plays a key role in advising the Senior Leadership Team and working collaboratively across the Leadership Team to champion our purpose of Growing Townsville and to deliver the Corporate Plan in consultation with the Townsville community. This position is accountable to the Chief Digital and Information Officer and will be focused on the needs and aspirations of the Townsville community; growing and managing customer relationships, developing a culture of customer‐centricity and personal accountability; and reshaping how we deliver services to maximise value.
About You
Our ideal applicant will hold relevant tertiary or professional qualifications in IT Program Delivery, Architecture, Human‐Centred Design or a related field, with postgraduate studies in Business Management highly regarded. You would have a proven track record of success as a senior leader within large, diverse organisations and excel in shaping high‐performing teams.
You bring expertise in establishing and maintaining customer‐focused, end‐to‐end IT delivery processes—from planning, design and approvals through to execution and commissioning—within complex organisational environments. Your background includes leading complex digital and technology projects, with demonstrated achievements in governance, cost management, reporting and driving successful program outcomes.
As a strategic and collaborative leader, you work effectively with executive teams and stakeholders across divisions to develop innovative strategies, policies and initiatives that support organisational priorities. You are financially astute, managing budgets, resources and digital program performance to ensure excellence in customer experience and compliance with all statutory and legal requirements.
