Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Geotechnical Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting geotechnical assessments and reports, as well as performing various tasks including data management, digital data capture, and in-situ geotechnical testing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with senior staff to schedule daily/weekly work requirements
* Undertake data management including logs, gINT, and Jira
* Assist with digital data capture and processing as directed
* Conduct engineering test pits using hand augers, backhoes, and excavators
* Supervise drilling using 4wd and truck-mounted drilling rigs; perform logging and sampling of soil material
* Conduct in-situ geotechnical testing such as dynamic cone penetrometer testing, hand shear vane testing, pocket penetrometer testing, and plate load tests
* Prepare geotechnical reports for review by senior staff and submission to clients
* Conduct testing of soil and rock in accordance with Australian Standards, RMS, and other relevant standards
* Prepare paperwork for field testing and laboratory testing
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Geology
* Ability to learn and work in a team environment
* Pass a 'fit to work' medical and regular drug and alcohol screening
* Manual labour involved
* Valid Driver's license
* White Card
